Case Study

WEMBLEY PARK’S REPTON GARDENS

Artificial green roof helps bring the outdoors in at Repton Gardens in Wembley Park residential development.

Forming part of Quintain’s 85-acre Wembley Park estate which surrounds the approaches to Wembley Stadium and surrounding entertainment parks, the Repton Gardens development for Maclaren is made up of three residential blocks.  Completed in December 2022 across five areas within the podium landscapes and roof gardens, EverRoof EVR2 and EVR3 artificial green roof installations were specified predominantly for the systems’ unique fire ratings and classified credentials.

In total 471 square metres of EverRoof has been supplied for the project, a collaboration with groundworks and civil engineering specialists Goldmax Limited who are responsible for the hard landscaping and external works at ground and podium levels. EVR2 has been installed across three areas of the podium and Belvedere level and the EVR3 system on two u-shaped sections, with a hidden margin along every perimeter edge.

OUTDOOR LIVING SPACE TO SHARE, MEET AND PLAY

Both EverRoof systems ensure the amenity space for the residents is durable, secured and functional, whilst creating a visually impressive outlook and a multifunctional space that will allow for access to all, all year round.  The development includes a range of spaces, a large private landscaped garden and a children’s play area. The artificial grass walkways offer continuity throughout the gardens. The focal point of the inward-facing residences is the pristine garden space, which opens up opportunities to share, meet and play.  These shared social spaces will allow its residential community to enjoy the outdoor living areas for entertaining, working and family activities.

EXTENDING YEAR-ROUND USE OF COMMUNITY SPACE

Named after the landscape architect Humphry Repton who named Wembley Park, the Gardens residential development has been designed to “bring the outdoors in”. The EverRoof artificial green roof system does just that; in areas which would otherwise not sustain turfing or planting, an artificial lawn can provide a naturally-looking green expanse that can complement beds and borders for natural planting, trees and vegetation. Its wind-resistance and fire-safety classified attributes ensure that the effects of the most extreme weather conditions do not adversely affect the outdoor space. With little to no maintenance, barring the occasional sweep and spray down, the recreational space gives access to all, all year round.
